US stocks rise as oil prices edge down

Wall Street stocks rose for a third straight session on Thursday as oil prices dropped, financials rallied on a bullish analyst report and data showed the US economy grew faster than previously thought in the first quarter.

Crude prices dipped well below $130 a barrel on Thursday, giving companies dependent on discretionary consumer spending a boost.
