In the pellmell world of property, Sir Stuart Lipton, the developer behind innovative offices schemes from Broadgate in the City to the Stockley Park in the Thames Valley, cuts a calm and thoughtful figure.

Along with partner Elliott Bernerd, Sir Stuart has made his mark on the development landscape since starting out in the late 1960s, and has been quietly busy positioning their company Chelsfield for the next cycle, notably lining up the acquisition of the US Embassy in Grosvenor Square.
