Boredom sets tone in Kyrgyz protest

A demonstration that has drawn thousands of people from all over Kyrgyzstan to the capital’s central square to press Kurmanbek Bakiyev, the president, to resign wore into its sixth day on Monday with no resolution in sight.

Bored-looking demonstrators, mostly poor, rural Kyrgyz, loitered around tents in Bishkek’s main square waiting for the next music act on stage.
