Charlton Athletic bid talks founder

A Dubai investment group that was in talks to buy Charlton Athletic has pulled out of the deal, citing among its reasons the debate about foreign ownership of football clubs and the economic climate in the UK.

Zabeel Investments, a property and private equity investor, was carrying out due diligence on the Championship club but said its withdrawal had nothing to do with its assessment of the club or its management.
