Orwellian tones of rebranding McJob

Sir, I am surprised that Sir Digby Jones and his fellow notables did not pause to reflect that their campaign to have the word "McJob" erased from the dictionaries (Letters, May 24) has rather Orwellian overtones. Isn't it supposed to be totalitarian regimes that seek to shape how people think by controlling the words they use?
