An internet start-up is helping small business owners to fill short-term positions or complete projects using students or young people taking a gap year.

Studentgems.com, which sees itself as a matchmaking service for those at university or college and small business owners, was launched by two Buckinghamshire businesswomen and a philosophy student from Cambridge University.
