Warner Brothers has embarked on an aggressive expansion into the video games industry with the acquisition of TT Games, the Cheshire publisher of the LEGO Star Wars series that has sold 12m copies globally.

The transaction will secure a multi-million pound return for Jon Burton, TT Group's controlling shareholder, who founded the company as Traveller's Tales 18 years ago and who described the deal yesterday as "the fulfilment of a dream".
