Toyota sets out plan to counter sales slump

Toyota Motor, the world’s biggest carmaker, said on Tuesday that it expected to pull out of an unprecedented sales slump this year with projected volume growth of 6 per cent worldwide.

The Japanese group, which is heading for its second straight net annual loss after a punishing year in the US, Europe and Japan, said it expects to sell 8.27m cars and trucks in the 12 months to December.
