Fashion elite tries on stimulus for size

The fashion industry in 13 countries will on Thursday attempt to do what central bankers have struggled to do: get consumers spending again.

The style stimulus plan is known as Fashion’s Night Out. Its Ben Bernanke is Anna Wintour, editor of American Vogue. Ms Wintour’s big idea is to hold a global retail party for one night in capitals from New York to Paris, Beijing, Moscow and Rio.
