Alexander Scott set up the multi-family office SandAire for a pressing reason. His family had realised a fortune in liquid assets and the money had to be managed.

In 1994, he led the sale of the fourth-generation family business Provincial Insurance. A few years earlier the family had also sold Prolific Asset Management.
