Watchdog expected to savage BAA

BAA, the operator of Heathrow and six other airports, is braced for criticism next week from competition watchdogs over the workings of an industry over which it enjoys a near-monopoly.

The Competition Commission is due to unveil a report detailing its latest thinking in a year-old probe into BAA airports that could end with a break-up of the company’s dominant position in London and Scotland.
