GE Capital feels the pinch

The credit crisis that has toppled leading US financial institutions and traditional banks is also putting growing pressure on the vast non-bank sector.

One of the most prominent examples is GE Capital, the once-mighty financial arm of General Electric, which is a bellwether of US and global economic conditions.
