Britain fights for working hours opt-out

Britain will once again go into battle in Brussels this week as it tries to resurrect a deal that would allow it to continue opting out from European Union curbs on working hours.

Diplomats are in the final stages of agreeing a revision to the working time directive after an original agreement preserving the UK opt-out was rejected by the European parliament in December.
