Fight for control of instant cricket

Sir Allen Stanford and Lalit Modi, the two men leading cricket’s money-spinning revolution, have never met, and judging by their opinion of each other’s tournaments are not in a hurry to do so.

Mr Modi, the man behind the multi-million pound Indian Premier League, says he will probably watch Sir Allen’s $20m winner-takes-all Twenty20 match between England and his Stanford Superstars in the Caribbean island of Antigua today, but he is not a fan of the week-long competition.
