Yahoo chief promises online ad revolution

A new system promising to cut the costs and complexity of online advertising would be as "revolutionary" as the digital video recorder, Jerry Yang, Yahoo's chief executive, predicted yesterday.

Mr Yang was launching Apt from Yahoo, an online service offering one-step planning and buying for online display ads, a day after his board cleared the way for new talks with Time Warner over the future of its AOL unit.
