Spanair crash deepens airline’s woes

As investigators sifted through the ashes of the Spanair jet that crashed shortly after takeoff from Barajas airport in Madrid on, Spain’s second-biggest airline was focused on the human tragedy.

The accident on Wednesday claimed the lives of 153 people aboard, making it the worst Spanish air disaster since 1983.
