China’s Citic Securities eyes HK listing

Citic Securities, China’s largest securities firm by market capitalisation, is considering listing in Hong Kong in the wake of its pioneering joint venture agreement with Bear Stearns, the US investment bank.

Citic’s deal with Bear Stearns is awaiting approval from regulators, but the two companies have announced their intention to invest in each other through an exchange of convertible securities and the set-up of a joint venture in Hong Kong.
