Carbon credit trading given a boost

Hedge funds managed from Britain will find it easier to join the booming trade in carbon emission credits after being given a tax break in the Budget on Wednesday.

Carbon credits held in offshore funds, primarily hedge funds, will now be treated as exempt from tax on profits in the same way as equities or bonds, the Treasury said.
