China stocks keep rising despite warning

China’s stock market extended its strong gains on Wednesday, with turnover hitting a record high, despite an earlier central bank warning about the danger of an asset bubble.

The stocks fell slightly in morning trading from a record high reached on Tuesday, when they shot up nearly 3 per cent, but regained momentum in the afternoon to close up another 1.6 per cent. Banking and telecoms stocks led the gains.
