US court to hear Lehman Brothers swap case

A US court is to consider, under US bankruptcy law, a dispute involving Lehman Brothers and the unwinding of a complex structured vehicle in what is being touted as a landmark case for the derivatives and securitisation industries.

A US bankruptcy judge on Tuesday rejected a motion by the Bank of New York Mellon to dismiss a complaint by Lehman, the collapsed bank, seeking priority in the repayment of claims related to a special purpose vehicle called Dante.
