Suit by Henry Poole & Co

Although I work in a creative environment, I always wear suits when meeting bankers, lawyers and potential clients. I prefer classic-yet-modern, custom-made, two-button suits by Henry Poole. I never wear a tie, so I like my suits to be quite structured. Because I’m tall, I prefer custom tailoring. I always opt for a dark colour – deep navy, or charcoal – as I like the way these contrast with light shirts. I think the combination of a dark suit and a light shirt works best for my complexion.

Shirt by Turnbull & Asser

I like classic, cotton shirts in solids: white, light blues and even pink. I have very long arms, so custom-made shirts tend to work best. My collars need to stay up, as I don’t ever wear a tie, and you’ll never see monograms on any of my shirts. I can remember my own initials!

Shoes by Silvano Lattanzi

I tend to prefer dark-brown leather shoes these days, as I find black a bit too stiff and formal. When I am wearing a suit I will opt for a custom-made buckle shoe by Silvano Lattanzi. These are perfectly cut for my narrow feet and are both stylish and comfortable. I also like Tod’s loafers when I’m wearing jeans and jackets, and I always opt for Adidas trainers because they are also cut narrowly.

Glasses by Oliver Peoples

I have been wearing these black frames for a while now but I am always on the lookout for new, bold ones.

Belt by Brioni

It is very important to have a refined, really well-made belt with a suit and I prefer alligator versions with a simple silver buckle. Alligators are not endangered – I’m very involved with the World Wildlife Fund so such issues are important to me – and this type of belt looks formal but is also extremely functional. I’ll opt for a more rugged, dark brown belt with a brass buckle at the weekends.
