Elisabeth Murdoch, the chief executive of Shine, the television production group, is to develop ways to make money from the internet by teaming up with Joanna Shields, the ex-chief executive of Bebo, who last year sold the social-networking site to AOL.
Ms Shields, who left Time Warner-owned AOL in June, will join Shine next month to head a yet-to-be-named new venture, which will aim to combine television content and online social networking as well as internet messaging. She is also joining the Shine Group’s advisory board.
