Activist investors seek success in Germany

Activist investors have attracted a lot of attention in Germany, but their track record is mixed.

Cevian Capital, the Swedish investment fund, has bought a stake of nearly 3 per cent in Munich Re, the reinsurer, making it the latest activist investor to target a German blue chip.
