Alternative assets valued at $3,000bn

The total size of the "alternative" investment world - such as hedge fund or commodity investments - has reached $3,000bn after rapid expansion in recent years, according to research from JPMorgan, the investment bank.

However, some segments of this market could now be approaching bubble-like conditions, and thus prone to future crashes, the US investment bank adds.
