OECD foresees end to global slide

The global economic outlook appears to be improving for the first time in two years, thanks to government efforts to stimulate economies, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Output for OECD countries countries this year is now expected to decline by 4.1 per cent, a more modest fall than the 4.3 per cent contraction estimated in March, according to the organisation’s World Economic Outlook.
