Mars rivals face a sticky situation

Earlier this month, Todd Stitzer, chief executive of Cadbury Schweppes, stood in front of investors in London and outlined the benefits of being shareholders in the world’s biggest confectionery company.

But the swift move by Mars on Wrigley has put Cadbury, which returns to its roots as a standalone confectionery group next week, firmly in second place.
