WPP warns of further deterioration

WPP warned that the advertising market deteriorated further in April, as shareholders approved the communications company’s controversial executive pay scheme.

In a trading statement at its annual meeting, WPP said that sales fell 6.7 per cent in the first four months of the year, excluding the impact of currency fluctuations, acquisitions and disposals.
