MPs dub guidelines on drugs as unfair

The methods used by the government’s medicines advisory body to decide whether the NHS should pay for expensive drug treatments are wasteful and unfair, according to MPs.

A report from the Commons health committee on Tuesday attacked the way in which the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) assesses costly cancer medicines as “both inequitable and an inefficient use of resources”.
