Rice urges India to foil repeat attack

Condoleezza Rice, US secretary of state, yesterday pressed India to take urgent measures to foil repeat terrorist attacks, as New Delhi firmly pinned the blame for last week's strike on Mumbai on militants and their controllers from Pakistan.

Ms Rice, speaking on a visit to New Delhi, said the priority for India and Pakistan was "to prevent another attack" after the devastating strike on India's financial capital that cost 172 lives.
