IBM UK pension under review

IBM’s UK subsidiary became the latest employer to announce that it is considering closing its final salary pension scheme to existing workers, a step it would take in April 2010 after a period of legally-mandated consultation.

IBM follows in the footsteps of several other high profile employers, notably the UK subsidiaries of overseas companies, looking to cut the risks and costs of retirement provision.
