Commodity price falls hit UK councils

Local authorities face a hit to their budgets as declining commodity prices mean that they can no longer make profits from recycling.

RecyclingPrices fetched by discarded paper, plastic and metals have plunged in the past year, changing the economics of recycling in the UK.
