US calls for clarity from China on oil stocks

The US will urge China to be more transparent about its oil stockpiles and the policies governing its strategic petroleum reserve at talks starting on Tuesday, Hank Paulson, Treasury secretary has told the Financial Times.

“There is a natural overlap of interest between countries that are major importers of oil,” Mr Paulson said, before the two-day session of the US-China strategic economic dialogue.
