The partial opening of a Resorts World casino in Manila, the Philippines’ first privately-run integrated casino resort, during the supposedly auspicious month of August turned out to be very good timing.

“We couldn’t be happier with the casino’s initial performance,” said Jeffrey Evora, vice-president for marketing at the new casino, which is run by Travellers, a joint venture between Hong Kong-listed Star Cruises and Philippines property company Alliance Global.
