Melrose seeks funds to bid for FKI

Melrose, the engineering turnround company, will ask its biggest shareholders to agree to fund a planned £500m takeover of FKI, the Loughborough engineering group.

Melrose last month approached FKI with a sweetened cash-and-shares offer following the rejection of an earlier proposal worth 70p a share.
