Markets regain appetite for British produce

UK exports of food and drink are on track to hit their highest levels in nearly a decade as British produce regains its appeal overseas after recovering from the taint of "mad cow" and foot and mouth disease.

Total UK food and drink exports between January and June 2005 were worth £4.65bn ($8.2bn, €6.8bn), up 3.1 per cent on the same period a year earlier.
