Labour sets date for Glasgow by-election

The countdown has begun for a Scottish by-election where Labour is at risk of losing yet another seat with less than seven months to go before Britain’s general election.

The Glasgow North East poll, caused by the resignation of former Commons speaker Michael Martin, will take place on November 12, a Labour party spokesman said on Thursday.
