Patricia Russo, Alcatel-Lucent’s chief executive, will on Wednesday seek to revive investor confidence in the beleaguered telecoms equipment maker by outlining a souped- up restructuring plan.

She presented the plan on Tuesday to Alcatel-Lucent’s board. The company declined to comment on the contents last night, but analysts expected it to include proposals for more job cuts.
