Blacks Leisure has placed its Sandcity stores into administration as it begins to shed lossmaking stores after saying on Tuesday that it would breach its banking covenants.

The company appointed KPMG, the accountancy group, as administrators to the business that operates 11 stores nationwide under the O’Neill brand.
