Small companies complain of banks’ attitudes

Small businessman Phil Barb recently switched bank from Barclays to Alliance & Leicester, after being told that his overdraft charges were almost doubling.

“The banks have caused this muddle and now they are screwing us for it,” complains Mr Barb, who runs a small business with his wife selling DVDs and CDs to hospitals and to companies’ corporate headquarters in East Anglia.
