Crackdown threatens hedge margins

Hedge fund managers were bracing themselves on Friday for hard times ahead while licking their wounds as the result of the global crackdown on short-selling.

“The business model is under a bit of a threat,” said one ruefully. “What is a hedge fund that can’t go short?”
