Big boys dictate the rate of uptake

RFID promises big benefits to retail chains and other large buyers that are taking the lead in using the wireless tags in their supply chains, but when it comes to suppliers and manufacturers the advantages can be trickier to identify.

“Suppliers are saying “What’s in it for me?’,” says Henri Bartel, technical director of EPCglobal, the non-profit body behind the EPC standard for RFID tags.
