Fanuc leads falls among Japan’s exporters

Asian stock markets came under pressure on Thursday as exporters were undermined by the Federal Reserve’s gloomier outlook on the US economy, with Tokyo further battered by fresh gains for the yen against the dollar.

Investors interpreted the yen’s continued strength as bad news for Japan’s biggest exporters. The currency has appreciated by nearly 7 per cent against the dollar since April.
