Go-Ahead timing good on Southern

Go-Ahead said it had saved £100m ($163m) by bidding for the Southern train franchise at the height of the recession.

The bus and rail operator beat three rival bidders to retain the busy Southern routes, which carry 140m passengers a year and include the London to Brighton and Gatwick Express train services.
