Pursuit of writeoffs taxing for US equities

The US equity market could come under selling pressure in the remaining days of the year from private investors willing to take losses in order to reduce their tax liabilities.

Tax-loss selling, when investors sell losers in their portfolios to realise the losses and use them to cut their tax bills, is a perennial event.
