Wealth funds urged to invest in Africa

Robert Zoellick, president of the World Bank, on Wednesday called on sovereign wealth funds to invest 1 per cent of their proceeds in Africa.

His appeal came in a keynote address ahead of the bank’s annual spring meeting. He challenged global policymakers to look beyond the market turmoil and to link crisis management initiatives with strategic efforts to make global growth more sustainable and inclusive.
