Safety training failures cost £30bn a year

Employers’ failure to provide adequate safety training for millions of workers is costing the economy more than £30bn a year, the British Safety Council reckons.

Some 6m working days were lost in Britain last year and 241 people killed in workplace accidents, the worst figures for five years, said the charity. It operates in more than 50 countries and has more than 8,000 member companies.
