Pyongyang agrees to resume N-talks

North Korea on Tuesday surprisingly agreed to return to the six-party talks on its nuclear programme, just three weeks after it conducted its first nuclear test.

In returning to the talks, analysts say North Korea probably bowed to growing pressure from China, its largest benefactor and closest political ally. China’s foreign ministry said that Pyongyang’s agreement to resume the talks followed a “frank and in-depth” exchange of views.
