Livedoor founder loses appeal

Takafumi Horie, the internet entrepreneur, lost his appeal against a 2½ year jail sentence for securities fraud.

Tokyo’s High Court rejected Mr Horie’s claim that he was not guilty of padding the earnings of Livedoor, the internet portal and services group he founded, and providing false information to drive up the company’s share price.
