Procurement policy: More than just price and quality

The 2012 Olympics in London are set to generate a £3.4bn procurement bonanza for business. But companies thinking of bidding for any of the lucrative contracts will have to do more than focus on price and quality.

The Olympic Delivery Authority says companies looking for Olympic contracts “should look to demonstrate equality of opportunity for their workforce, union recognition, a commitment to environmental sustainability and accredited health and safety training”.
