FBI concerns on prisoner abuse ‘ignored’

The White House National Security Council ignored concerns raised by the Federal Bureau of Investigation over interrogation techniques used at Guantánamo Bay, according to a report by the inspector-general of the justice department.

The report provides a detailed account of the friction that occurred between the FBI and other parts of the US government, including the military and Central Intelligence Agency, over permissible interrogation techniques.
